Our 4 Pillars – Products

We prioritize reflecting our values and culture in our products, emphasizing design and circularity.

Design & Circularity

R

Focus on reusing solutions, part replacement services, and sustainability from concept to end-of-life.

R
Embrace circular economy models like reusing, recycling, refurbishing, and remanufacturing.
R

Ensure products can be disassembled for recycling , with clear documentation (End of Life Recycling Instructions on the website).

Testing & Evaluation

TM66 test used published by CIBSE [Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers] to assess our circularity efforts, aiming for products to score above 0.5. We’ll gradually apply this to all products, with results available on our website.

TM65 test Measures “embodied carbon” (GHG emissions from raw materials to end-of-life stages), excluding operational use and potential recycling.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) & Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

LCA, as per ISO 14040, evaluates the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycle. The company uses LCA to create more sustainable products, adhering to international standards (EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 and EN ISO 14025:2011-10).

Partnering with PEP Eco Passports for Type III EPD, fitting well with lighting products.

Warranty

Sylvania Group has a spare parts policy and warranty program to promote product circularity and longevity. They focus on product reliability and quality, offering extended warranties of up to 10 years, along with dedicated customer service for optimal solutions.

Developing sustainable & digital solutions

Buildings need to improve efficiency in pollution, waste, and energy usage due to climate change. Key points include:

R
The EU energy efficiency directive requires a 32.5% reduction in building energy consumption by 2030.
R
Local incentives and certifications support this energy conservation effort for compliance.

An EU study found that 80% of lighting in commercial buildings is outdated, using up to 30% of energy but will remain until 2050. Switching to LED lighting with smart controls can save over 65% of energy, enhancing efficiency without sacrificing comfort. Sylvania Group is bringing technology and creative innovation together to develop sustainable solution.

Sylvania Group is advancing sustainability through smart controls and real-time energy monitoring, optimizing building efficiency while maintaining occupant comfort.

And by new concept. Key initiatives include:

R

A wireless, intelligent lighting control system for various buildings, integrating a decentralized mesh network for reliable, energy-efficient performance. It provides tailored lighting solutions to meet energy conservation and comfort needs.

R

Real Human Centric Lighting that recreates natural light indoors, aligning with biological clocks to regulate melatonin and improve well-being. It offers excellent color rendering without blue peaks, mimicking sunlight quality.

R

An extension offering global monitoring, data collection, and actionable insights for optimizing building assets, enhancing system connectivity, and improving building services. Key features include occupancy analytics, energy management, remote control, and multi-site control.

R

“The first paper that illuminates your space”. A sustainable lighting product line using eco-friendly manufacturing processes, recycled materials, and waste minimization, contributing to a circular economy.
